![]() ![]() Software to be used by many departments will receive higher priority. ![]() The Information Services Department will review software requests on a regular basis to decide which packages are eligible for institutional funding.After successful tests in Information Services’ offices, two weeks’ notice is needed to load the software on lab machines.We will not load software that is not properly licensed. If a faculty member supplies the software, a copy of the software license also must be supplied for our records. ![]() The testing phase could last a day or longer. A faculty member wishing to have software added to computers in any of the labs must supply Information Services with a copy of the program and work with the staff to prepare a series of tests to verify the software’s functionality.In some cases, the addition of the new program has caused the machine to stop working altogether. Unfortunately, many software programs, including small freeware products, can cause problems with software already loaded. In many cases, the request is for software to be used in a class immediately. Additionally, please keep in mind that Information Services receives many requests for software to be loaded on machines in the microcomputer labs. In order to request software for labs and classrooms the following policy will need to be followed.
